Simon Townshend is back on the road with the 'Who hits 50' tour, replaying the dates postponed last year due to Roger Daltrey's unfortunate illness.
He's also fitting in his own tour dates in between Who gigs, on a solo tour that's taking him state to state. With his solo music, Simon 'puts on a very different hat' than he does with The Who, letting his own influences and style take charge. In The Who, Townshend backs up his brother in any way necessary, whether playing the guitar parts that are overdubbed on the records, backing up on vocals, etc.
Solo he performs songs like 'Mother', 'Leaving this Town' and 'About Love', all quite different from the rock anthems the Who are rightly famous for!
